The Avrora is one of St. Petersburg´s main movie theaters. In 1998 the movie theater celebrated its 85th anniversary and its large auditorium was completely renovated for the occasion. New equipment, a 100 square meter screen and soft, comfortable armchairs and sofas were also installed in the auditorium. Moreover, two cafes were opened, which serve popcorn, candy, and soda. It also has a smaller, VIP hall.

The ticket office opens one hour before the beginning of the first showing. Closing time is 21:00.

How to get there
Exit metro Gostiny Dvor on Nevsky Prospect and walk towards Ploshchad Vosstaniya. The cinema is located on the other side of the street from the Ekaterininsky Garden.

The cinema is quite modern and is located right in the city’s central area. It is spread across several floors and has four different screening rooms. The largest is the red hall, which accommodates up to 200 people and shows new, mainstream releases. Sometimes different film festivals are held in this hall too. The theater is also home to a decent bar and cafe, where you can drink and eat before watching the latest James Bond thriller.
