Dance Exhibition at the Marble Museum in St. Petersburg

Currently the Marble Museum in St. Petersburg is hosting an exhibition celebrating the art of dance. The display encompasses all the visual arts including sculpture, painting, graphic works, photography and video. The exhibition aims to examine the communicative and self expressive qualitities of monement and form.

The exhibition presents the full variety of various interpretations of dance from the beginning of the 20th century until nowadays. The display presents works that present dance as a special type of communication and as a form of artistic expression involving movement and form. 

The theme of the exhibition encompasses traditional forms of dance such as classical, folk, and ritual, but also displays Russian Avant-Garde and comtemporary art.

The exhibition will be open until November 14th at the Marble Palace on Millionaya Ul. 5/1. The display is open on Mondays from 10:00 - 17:00 and every other day from 10:00 - 18:00, except Tuesday when the museum is closed.
